Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that improves the appearance of the labia minora without altering their function. The surgeon will shorten the length of the labia when they are overdeveloped, resulting in a even and harmonious appearance. If only a certain portion of the labia is overgrown, only that portion will be reduced to make them symmetric. If both labia are overgrown, both of them will be reduced. In addition, a fat injection that will permanently restore the lost volume of flaccid labia minora and of the labia majora can be applied. IDEAL CANDIDATES
The best candidates for labiaplasty are women who have asymetrical or uneven labia minora. It can also be used to reduce the size of hypertrophic (oversized) or hanging labia minora, and can also widen the opening of the vagina when it is too narrow or penetration is painful. It is especially beneficial to woman who experience discomfort wearing tight clothes such as swimsuits because of their labia.
